The 2017 EFC Conference was held this year in San Diego from May 30 – June 1, 2017. The title of the conference was Bridge the Opportunities: Connect and Take Control.

During the opening session on Wednesday morning Tony DeCicco from Intermatic Canada received the 2017 CEMRA Person of the Year Award and Bill Smith from Electrozad Supply was presented the 2017 EFC Industry Recognition Award.

The awards recognize the commitment and influence these two individuals have had on the Canadian electrical industry.

    Employment declined by 42,000 (-0.2%) in August and the employment rate fell 0.1 percentage points to 60.8%. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.4%. Employment fell among youth aged 15 to 24 (-19,000; -0.7%) and edged down (-16,000; -0.1%) among people in the core-age (25 to 54 years old).
