On March 30th, more than 35 members attended the Ontario Region Electrical Safety Code Update, presented by Ray Yousef, Engineering Manager, Electrical Safety Authority. The presentation focused on changes in the general and supplementary sections of the CE code, such as new GFCI protection requirements for outdoor receptacles, installations in farm buildings that house livestock, energy storage system installations, and Electrical Vehicle installations. All these updates and more will come into effect on May 12th, 2022.

John Hadley, Ontario Region Chair, praises the value of events like this to educate and inform. “The prime objective of the Ontario Regional Committee is to provide a balanced combination of valuable networking events and informative educational programs for our membership. The ‘Ontario Electrical Safety Code Update’ gave the region a great start in achieving that objective. Special thanks to all those that attended the virtual presentation and that participated in the informative Q & A session. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next event in our annual agenda.”
