IEC Award Recipients Named

October 4, 2016

Gorden Chen, GKC Associates, and Keith Rodel, Hubbell Canada, are among the recipients of this year’s IEC 1906 Award.

The award commemorates the founding of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) in 1906 and honours IEC experts around the world whose work is fundamental to the IEC. The award also recognizes exceptional and recent achievement — a project or other specific contribution — related to the activities of the IEC and which contributes in a significant way to advancing the work of the commission.

There are approximately 10,000 technical experts who volunteer on IEC standard work.

The IEC is the world’s leading organization for the preparation and publication of International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies, known collectively as “electrotechnology.”
