Desdowd leaders at receptionDesdowd Inc., a leading manufacturers’ agent, celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 19 in the presence of co-founder Pierre Dowd.

The event, held close to the company’s Montreal location, brought together manufacturers, distributors, agents and employees. The company has 23 staff, a large warehouse, and three regional sales offices in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa. It should be noted that Desdowd provides marketing and technical support for several major lines of advanced electrical products to various sectors of the electrical industry.

A highlight of the evening occurred when Patrick Marion, current president of Desdowd and Jean-Sébastien Bercier, joint shareholder and vice president, unveiled a plaque in the presence of Pierre Dowd, who co-founded the company with Jacques Desormeaux. The plaque commemorates the work done by Pierre to promote the role of manufacturing agents in the electrical industry. (In the photo, L-R: Desdowd President Patrick Marion, co-founder Pierre Dowd, and joint shareholder and Vice President Jean-Sébastien Bercier.)

In his very funny speech about his professional career, from saxophonist to manufacturing agent, Pierre Dowd recalled his involvement in the creation of CEMRA to represent the interests of Canadian manufacturing agents.

Helping to celebrate the anniversary at Desdowd’s Montreal location were Kerrwil Publisher John Kerr and CEW Managing Editor Line Goyette.

Desdowd is a dynamic, efficient manufacturing agency with an innovative approach. Its main objective is to ensure customers and suppliers satisfaction. The firm represents 15+ manufacturers in the electrical products industry; http://www.desdowd.qc.ca/en/
