EFC Names William C. Smith 2017 Industry Recognition Award Recipient

Bill Smith, Electrozad to Receive Industry Recognition Award at EFC's AGM

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) has presented its 2017 Industry Recognition Award (IRA) to Bill Smith, President, Electrozad Supply Company Limited. This award was presented during EFC’s Annual General Meeting on April 12.

Bill started his career working part-time at Electrozad while attending St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology. Upon graduation he started his first full-time job at State Electric. Returning to Electrozad, Bill has held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions before becoming President of the Electrozad Group of Companies in 1992.

In addition, Bill has served on a variety of supplier advisory councils, committees, boards and charities throughout his career. Bill has been a shareholder and director of Electrozad Supply since 1984. He has also served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Copel Inc. and Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the former CEDA — Canadian Electrical Distributors Association.

For EFC, Bill has served

  •     on the National Council and Executive Committee
  •      as Chairman of the Supply & Distribution Council
  •      several terms on the Board of Directors for EFC

He has also worked on the following Affiliated Distributors Committee  the ESD (Electrical Supply Division) Canadian Product Committee; the Industrial Programs Committee; a Vice Network Chairman, a Network Chairman, the Executive Committee and the A-D Corporate Board of Directors.

“Bill has influenced the electrical industry with strong leadership, investment in both people and organizations, with strong ethics, energy and good nature. He is well-deserving of this important industry award,” says Carol McGlogan, EFC President and CEO.

EFC’s Industry Recognition Award is presented annually to an individual who has influenced Canada’s electrical industry, either as a current or retired industry delegate, or as an industry supporter. Past Industry Recognition Award recipients include:
