CanSIA President & CEO John Gorman Is Honoured as One of Canada’s 2015 Clean50

Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) President and CEO John Gorman has been named to Canada’s 2015 Clean50 list. CanSIA is a national trade association that represents 650 solar energy companies across Canada.

Canada’s Clean50 Awards recognizes 50 individuals or small teams in 16 different categories who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past two years. “The Clean50 come from a broad array of backgrounds,” explains Gavin Pitchford, Chief Talent Officer, Delta Management Group. “To be one of them is truly indicative of industry and personal leadership in that category. The individuals we chose for the Clean50 this year are true leaders, and should be an inspiration for all Canadians.”

Gorman leads a team at CanSIA whose sole mission is to advance the use of solar energy. Among his accomplishments, Gorman has 

•     transformed CanSIA into a member-focused organization and powerful advocate for solar energy

•     created a national network of over 200 youth and emerging leader informed advocates for the cause

•     returned the organization to sustained profitability

•     delivered a national speaking series inspiring consumers to become producers of green energy

•     secured a role for CanSIA as Canada’s representative on the International Energy Agency 

•     helped to develop solar markets in Ontario and Alberta.
