EFC conducts a quarterly Business Confidence Survey, inviting all key association contacts to participate. Respondents are asked to compare their current quarter and next quarter sales, against the same periods last year.

Go HERE to view the results for Q4 2019 Business Confidence Survey.

View the general comments from the survey below:

  • Alberta market remains concerning
  • Canada low growth driven by US market
  • Expecting a decrease of new housing construction in Q3 – Q4
  • First quarter 2020 will be a better start and thus help most with the overall years’ numbers coming in positive
  • Fewer projects in 2019, and more manufacturers
  • People are starting to see the value of experience and knowledge vs. price
  • Increased channel competition and lack of large projects in Western Canada and Atlantic are key drivers
  • Much will depend on geopolitical matters and their impact on the North American economy
  • If you have further questions or comments about this poll, contact Anne Harrigan, Vice President, Marketing Resource.
