EFC Launches Habitat For Humanity Power to Build Program

April 4, 2017

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) has set a two-year goal to raise $400,000 in product and $100,000 in cash donations each year for a total $1 million contribution to Habitat for Humanity Canada. EFC invites members to support the program with both product and financial donations.

“Many EFC members already support the charity and this Power to Build program provides all EFC organizations the opportunity to participate in providing homes for families,” says Russ Morgan, Chair, EFC Habitat for Humanity Committee and Vice-President Sales Canada at IPEX Management Inc. “With Canada’s 150th, there are more home builds planned across our country with a greater need for electrical products.”

“Supporting Habitat For Humanity is a great fit with our industry manufacturing and distributing electrical products required for home builds,” adds John Jefkins, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, EFC. “There are also cash and volunteer opportunities.”

As an example, EFC’s Young Professionals Network has challenged each of its members be “give ambassadors” at their organizations on behalf of Habitat for Humanity.

“Whether you choose to volunteer, donate product or donate financially,” says Mark Rodgers, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada, “the impact that the EFC Power to Build initiative will have is that more families have safe, decent homes where they can begin building stronger futures for themselves.”
