Hydro One to Invest $10 million investment in Cobden Transformer Station

Cobden Transfer Station

Hydro One has begun replacing two transformers at the Cobden Transformer Station, northeast of Ottawa. The transformers have already served the area for more than 60 years and are reaching end of life. The station serves more than 8,300 customers in the area. Replacement work is not expected to involve any planned power outages, and is expected to be completed by year’s end.

Hydro One owns and operates Ontario’s 29,000 km high-voltage transmission network, and a 122,000 km low-voltage distribution system that serves about 1.3 million end-use customers and smaller municipal utilities in the province. Hydro One is wholly owned by the province.
