CEMC Releases Report on Consumer Electronics Market Trends and Forecast

EFC

Consumer Electronics Marketers of Canada (CEMC), an Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) council, has just released its 2014 Consumer Electronics Market Trends and Forecast Report. The report is regarded as a benchmark for industry business planning, providing an overview of past, current and future trends facing the Canadian consumer electronics market.

“This report provides a single source of key industry data and trends from CEMC members’ information amalgamated from our association’s confidential database,” says Susan Winter, Vice President, CEMC.

The 2014 report contains data covering television, audio, blu-ray/DVD telephone, camcorder and mobile electronics. Data are collected from CEMC’s statistical programs, which gather, analyze, and report data on leading consumer electronics categories. This publication is also based on perspectives provided by a cross-section of industry executives from CEMC membership, Consumer Electronics Association, Bank of Canada, Economap Inc., and Statistics Canada.

“Technology is transforming the way we live, the way we are entertained and the way we work,” says CEMC in a release. “This includes consumers wanting a unified consumer electronic experience, where the majority of their devices connect to the Internet and also support an interface to their smartphone and tablet applications. Beyond this trend toward convergence, a new range of products is emerging that can connect to the Internet and also to each other – often referred to as the Internet of Things.”

The report is available to CEMC members, free-of-charge, and is available for non-members ($250 CDN plus tax) at www.electrofed.com/cemc or by contacting info@electrofed.com.
